Wishbone Mounts
Mercury’s “wishbone” style motor mount system cradles the powerhead and absorbs the torsional rotation of the crankshaft. By isolating and reducing the vibration transmission to your boat, it provides a smooth driving experience.

- Patented Centering Straps. Holds the engine straight without additional hold-downs when running in the rough conditions or trailering (Standard on Tiller Pro Kickers).

Convenient Trim Ratcheting
The 8 and 9.9hp models come standard with both ratcheting trim and tilt lock. The ratcheting trim allows you to easily trim the motor up to the height you need. When you’re ready to tilt the engine down, the tilt lock will keep it at your selected angle.

Twist and Shout
Spinning in circles to turn around can make anyone dizzy. That’s why Mercury’s 2.5 and 3.5 hp FourStrokes offer 360° steering and a twist grip throttle. The tiller handle can be turned over and the engine rotated to reverse the thrust.

Mercury’s 2.5 – 3.5hp portable outboards are designed from the start to be compact, lightweight and easier to carry. By utilizing Mercury’s patented one-piece integrated cylinderblock design, we’ve eliminated gaskets and fasteners and made the powerhead much more compact and lightweight.
